Keystone: Baking to Make a Difference in Japan

On Friday, March 10, Japan was rocked by a powerful tsunami, triggered by the 9.0 earthquake that wrenched the island nation. The fallout included an explosion at a nuclear power plant, entire towns and villages being wiped out, and a major hit to the Japanese economy.

Keystone, BGC’s community service club for high school club members, decided to help. They put together an assortment of baked goods and organized a three-day bake sale at Havre High School and the Boys & Girls Club. In the end, they raised $200 for relief efforts.

Keystone donated the funds to Save the Children’s Japan Emergency Fund. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is also partnering with this organization on a national level to raise money for the cause.
